The Airplane Restaurant

One of the benefits of living all over the country is that you get to visit a lot of really cool local spots that no one has heard about.  While we were stationed at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs we found this gem of a restaurant called Solo's (but it mostly goes by The Airplane Restaurant).  This is not just an airplane themed diner--the restaurant actually has a real plane jutting into the building!  You could choose to eat in the main building, which was also airplane themed, or you could eat IN THE PLANE!  The plane is a Boeing KC-97 tanker and is fully intact--you can even sit in the cockpit!  The inside has been refurbished and all of the tables have aviation maps lacquered onto them.  There is also tons of memorabilia and the food is really good too.
